UNIMARC HOBBY WATER-BASED ACRYLIC ENAMEL FOR DECORATION AND DO-IT-YOURSELF - INTERIOR / EXTERIOR series 301 DESCRIPTION UNIMARC HOBBY is a water-based product consisting of acrylic resins in aqueous dispersion and iridescent light-stable pigments. Ideal for decorating purposes and for small DIY touch ups. The resins of the formulation give excellent resistance to weathering and expansion and offer excellent adhesion on a variety of different surfaces. Easy to apply, ready to use, for general applications on a variety of outdoor and indoor surfaces. Available in various colours. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Can be applied on indoor and outdoor surfaces such as wood, metal, plastic, plaster. For uses not conforming to Legislative decree 161/2006 (Dir. 2004/42/EC VOC). The product, in containers of 0.750 L gold (0190), silver (0070) and copper (0160), conforms to Legislative Decree No. 161/2006 (Dir. 2004/42/EC VOC). TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS -Type of binder: water-based acrylic copolymer -Solvent: water -Specific gravity per UNI EN ISO 2811-1: 1.0-1.4 kg/l depending on the colour. -Drying (25 C and 65%R.H.): touch dry 3 hours, coatability after 6 hours. PREPARING THE SURFACE Metal surfaces: - Check the condition of the surface. - In case of new surfaces, degrease the support with a suitable diluent. - If rust is present, sand, remove any dust and apply a coat of MARCOTECH AU METAL PRIMER cod. 3320807. - Apply UNIMARC HOBBY on a clean and dry surface. Wood surfaces: - Remove any old paintwork that is peeling and not perfectly bonded to the surface. - Level out any irregularities on the surface. - Sand and clean. - On large surfaces, apply 1-2 coats of UNIMARC FONDO UNIVERSALE cod. 3350019 primer. - Apply UNIMARC HOBBY on a clean and dry surface. TAKE CARE when treating wood with high tannin content. To reduce the formation of dark stains, apply UNIMARC PRIMER ANTITANNINO cod. 3080001/0019. Plaster surfaces: - Make sure the support is thoroughly dry and completely set. - In the presence of mould - Remove any old paint that is not perfectly bonded to the surface, as well as mould, salt efflorescence, raised layers of lime or tempera-based paint, dust deposits. - Level out any irregularities on the surface and fill in holes, cracks, crevices and depressions with TAMSTUCCO cod. 9400006/9410110 or WALLSTUCCO cod. 9100019. - Smooth the plaster with a suitable smoothing coat. - Fix the surface with ATOMO cod. 8840001 or IDROFIS cod. 4700006 fixative. - Apply 1-2 coats of levelling primer DECORFOND cod. 3880019 of the same colour. - Apply UNIMARC HOBBY on a clean and dry surface. Plastic (PVC) surfaces: - Sand the surface to roughen it slightly. - Degrease with a suitable diluent. - On a clean and dry surface, apply 1-2 coats of UNIMARC FONDO UNIVERSALE series 3350019 primer. - After at least 6 hours, apply UNIMARC HOBBY. On plastic materials other than PVC, it is recommended to first test the adherence of the surface in question. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS -Air and surface conditions: Air temperature: Min. +10 C / Max.+35 C. Relative humidity of the air: <75%. Temperature of the surface: Min. +10 C / Max. +35 C. Dry surface. -Tools: .brush for small surface and touch up; .short bristle roller, spraying and sponge for medium and large surface. -By roller, apply the finishing coat in the same direction. -N. coats: at least 2 coats. -Diluting with water: .by brush, roller and sponge is ready to use or max 5% .by sprying at 10-15% -Tools should be cleaned with water immediately after use. -Indicative spreading rate: approximately 1 square meter per package 0.125 L when applying one layer of the product. For large surfaces approx 12-14 mq/L per coat based on smooth surfaces featuring average absorption. It is advisable to determine the actual spreading rate by carrying out a preliminary test on the specific surface. TINTING The product is available in the shades featured on the color chart. STORAGE Maximum storage temperature: +30° C Minimum storage temperature: +5° C Stability in the original unopened containers and with suitable temperature conditions: 3 years.
