ROCKWOOL SP Firestop VRB is a specialized product designed for creating open-state cavity fire stops in building facades, allowing for ventilation and drainage under normal conditions.

Specifications
The product consists of a stone wool barrier with a continuous intumescent strip, encapsulated in a weather-resistant polythene sleeve. It is suitable for cavity widths up to 300mm and is installed horizontally to maintain an open air space.

Installation
SP Firestop VRB is supplied with two galvanized steel fixing brackets and four pigtail screws per meter. The brackets should be fixed to the wall at 500mm centers, and the product should be impaled mid-barrier depth. Adjacent lengths must be tightly butt jointed, and imperfections up to 10mm can be filled with ROCKWOOL acoustic Intumescent Mastic.

Application
Designed for drained and ventilated facade systems, SP Firestop VRB allows moisture drainage while maintaining airflow. In a fire, it creates an effective smoke and fire seal. It maintains air gaps of up to 25mm for 60 minutes of integrity and insulation, and 35mm for 30 minutes.

Performance
The product must be at least 25mm wider than the ROCKWOOL RAINSCREEN DUO-SLAB layer. A 60-minute fire performance requires a maximum open cavity of 25mm, while a 30-minute performance allows up to 35mm.

Standards & Approvals
Complies with regulations in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland. Fully tested to ASFP TGD 19 standards.

Ancillaries
Includes SP Fixing Brackets and Pigtail Screws, which are necessary for installation. Brackets are supplied at two per meter, and screws at four per meter.
