CLADDING ROLL

Product catalog summary
Product Overview
ROCKWOOL Cladding Roll is a lightweight, flexible insulation mat designed for commercial and industrial buildings. It offers thermal insulation, fire resistance, and acoustic absorption, making it suitable for lightweight cladding applications.

Description
Available in various thicknesses, the Cladding Roll is made from high-quality stone wool. It provides fire protection with 4 hours of integrity and stability, and 17 minutes of insulation in a twin-skin wall system. An aluminium facing option is available for added tensile strength.

Applications and Advantages
Primarily used in lightweight cladding for framed buildings, the Cladding Roll is non-combustible (Euroclass A1), water repellent, chemically inert, and offers excellent thermal and acoustic properties.

Performance
Fire Classification: Achieves A1 classification as per BS EN 13501-1. Tested for compliance with BS 476: Part 22.
Acoustic Performance: Achieves Rw 37dB with a 0.4mm lining sheet and 0.55mm outer sheet. This can increase to Rw 38dB with an air space.
Thermal Performance: U-values for walls and roofs vary based on thickness and system type, with specific values provided for different applications.

Installation and Packaging
Plain Faced Cladding Roll is recommended for roofing, while Foil Faced is for vertical applications. The product is compression wrapped for outdoor storage.

Sustainability
ROCKWOOL promotes sustainable production, with products made from renewable resources. The insulation is 97% recyclable and does not contain harmful gases.

Technical Information
Complies with BS EN 13162:2012+A1:2015. Available in various dimensions and thicknesses, subject to order quantities.

CLADDING ROLL Performance Fire classification ROCKWOOL Cladding Roll (unfaced and aluminium faced) achieves a reaction to fire classification of A1 as defined in BS EN 13501-1. Fire performance A typical metal twin-skin wall incorporating ROCKWOOL Cladding Roll has been fire tested and shown to comply with BS 476: Part 22 as a fire rated wall one metre or more from a relevant boundary. The over sheeting rail system achieved 4 hours integrity, 4 hours stability and 17 minutes insulation (Warres No. 42624 + WF153726). Alternative fire wall designs have been tested by cladding systems manufacturers...

CLADDING ROLL Thermal bridging and air leakage Improving the u-value of the main building fabric without adding the thermal bridging is no longer an option. Approved Document L, requires that the building fabric should be constructed so that there are no significant thermal bridges or gaps in the insulation layer, particularly at joints between elements and at the edges of elements, such as those around window and door openings. Linear thermal transmission losses, known as psi values are found at junctions between elements such as floors, walls and corners. Thermal point losses, known as ‘chi’...
