Technical Characteristics of Marble

Density: The density of traditional marble ranges from 2.45 to 2.70 Kg/dm³, while the Flair/Urban Grain variety ranges from 2.40 to 2.55 Kg/dm³.

Water Absorption: Traditional marble has a water absorption rate of less than 0.35% w/w, whereas Flair/Urban Grain has a rate of less than 0.15% w/w.

Flexural Strength: Traditional marble exhibits a flexural strength greater than 10 MPa, while Flair/Urban Grain exceeds 20 MPa.

Compressive Strength: Traditional marble has a compressive strength greater than 80 MPa, and Flair/Urban Grain exceeds 100 MPa.

Abrasion Resistance: The abrasion resistance for traditional marble ranges from 250 to 561 mm³, and for Flair/Urban Grain, it ranges from 275 to 520 mm³.

Linear Thermal Expansion Coefficient: Traditional marble has a coefficient between 12 and 16 x 10^-6 °C^-1, while Flair/Urban Grain ranges from 14 to 23 x 10^-6 °C^-1.

Static Coefficient of Friction: For polished surfaces, the wet coefficient is 0.40 - 0.50 and dry is 0.50 - 0.60. For honed surfaces, the wet coefficient is 0.50 - 0.60 and dry is 0.60 - 0.70.

Dimensional Stability: Both types are classified as Class A for dimensional stability.

Freeze and Thaw Resistance: Resistance varies depending on the type of marble, but generally, they are resistant.

Reaction to Fire: Both types are classified as A2 fl - S1.
