Un oggetto comune di acciaio é composto da circa il 60% di materiale riciclato, di cui il 25% deriva da prodotti non utilizzati e il 35% da processi produttivi. L’acciaio inossidabile non si trasforma mai in rifiuto. Stainless steel is 100% recyclable. L’acciaio inossidabile si protegge da solo grazie ad una caratteristica preziosa: la passivazione. Il cromo a contatto con l’ossigeno, si trasforma in uno strato “passivo” che aderisce alla superficie, impedendone un’ulteriore ossidazione e relativa usura nel tempo. Stainless steel protects itself thanks to a precious feature: passivation. The chromium forms a passive layer when exposed to oxygen, and this layer protects the material beneath against oxidation and its relative wear in time.
