Specifications and Applications
  • Fire Barrier Coating: Seals board joints and apertures, ensuring a tight fit with at least 240 mm separation between apertures.
  • Fire Compound: A white powder mixed with water to seal around service penetrations, allowing for additional or replacement services without replacing the entire installation.
  • Fire Pillows: Used for temporary or permanent fire protection, particularly around cables requiring regular alterations.
Installation Techniques
  • Fire Compound: Mixed with water to the required consistency, built up progressively to avoid slumping.
  • Fire Pillows: Installed by laying in courses to fill gaps around penetrations.
Approval and Performance
  • Fire Rating: Products tested for up to 120 minutes of fire resistance.
  • Loadbearing Capacity: The fire compound supports temporary foot traffic with specific loadbearing capacities.
Key Considerations
  • Ensure services are supported within 500mm of the sealing system.
  • Additional reinforcement may be necessary for loadbearing applications.
Conclusion
Promat PROMASEAL® products provide effective fire protection solutions with specific installation techniques and performance ratings to ensure safety and compliance.
