Product catalog summary
Introduction
The A. Proctor Group Ltd has developed Wraptite®, a self-adhering airtight and vapour permeable membrane designed to address air leakage in buildings, thereby improving energy performance and reducing CO2 emissions.
Product Specifications
Wraptite is BBA certified, offering a combination of vapour permeability and airtightness. It is compatible with various substrates and suitable for a range of projects. The membrane has a high vapour permeability (Sd-value of 0.039m), allowing rapid drying of construction moisture and reducing mould risk.
Air Leakage Testing
Testing follows EN13829 standards, measuring air leakage to ensure compliance with building regulations. Stricter standards apply in Scotland and the Republic of Ireland.
Physical Properties
Wraptite is lightweight, easy to install, and can be exposed for up to 120 days. It is free from volatile organic compounds and performs well in tests for water penetration, air resistance, and tensile strength.
Fire Safety
Wraptite has a Class B-s1-d0 fire rating, the highest for a polypropylene membrane, ensuring reliable performance during a fire.
Applications
Suitable for walling and roofing, Wraptite provides an airtight seal and resistance to water, dust, and wind. It requires no ventilation or maintenance.
Wraptite Tape and Liquid Flashing
Wraptite Tape seals joints and overlaps, while Wraptite Liquid Flashing provides a continuous seal for complex details.
Wraptite System Components
Wraptite-FZ offers temporary weather protection at floor junctions, and Wraptite Corners seal openings around doors and windows.
Case Studies
Potton Passivhaus Showhouse: Demonstrates Wraptite's application in low-energy construction, achieving an air change rate of 0.5 ac/h.
Student Accommodation, Portsmouth: Improved airtightness and reduced component costs in a 23-storey project.
Royal College of Pathologists, London: Simplified installation and reduced costs, aiming for a BREEAM Excellent assessment.
Conclusion
The Wraptite system provides a cost-effective solution for airtightness and energy efficiency, simplifying installation and reducing performance gaps.

The A. Proctor Group Ltd, a familyowned company in its fourth generation, has been providing technical solutions and specialist products to the construction industry for over 50 years. In the 21st century the increasing focus on emissions reduction and energy efficiency has led to the development of specialist construction membranes aimed at reducing energy use by limiting air leakage. A large proportion of UK CO2 emissions are associated with the built environment, of which surprisingly little comes from the design and construction phases. The majority is generated by the ongoing requirements...

A useful way of stopping unnecessary air leakage around openings and overlaps is to use Wraptite Tape, an airtight, tear resistant tape with high vapour permeability for internal and external applications. Wraptite Tape’s flexibility facilitates ease of application and detailing, while its resilient composition resists punctures and tears during construction. It can be left exposed for up to 120 days during construction and has a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to +100°C). Wraptite Tape is also available with a split release liner for ease of installation - see below. It fully bonds to...

System Components Wraptite Corner WRAPTITE CORNERS Wraptite Preformed Airtight Corners have been developed for the difficult areas around doors and windows where maintaining good air barrier continuity is difficult and time consuming. Wraptite corners’ simple design and installation process makes sealing openings against air leakage simple, just peel off the release liner, stick the corners in place, then install the Wraptite membrane as normal. This helps achieve the best possible results in the shortest possible time. Once installed, the corner sections provide the same vapour permeable air...
