Compared to other absorptive materials, gypsum foam has unique properties as it is made from the naturally occurring raw material chalk: this is ground into dust, foamed using a polymer and processed to form slabs. Thanks to its pore structure, even thinner slabs offer rigidity and high absorption, which can be adjusted on an individual basis.
