Product Overview:
RedSeal® Interior Oil is a premium alkyd enamel designed for interior use, offering excellent application, hiding, coverage, and a smooth, fade-resistant finish. It is suitable for cabinets, doors, and trim, providing a long-lasting, hard, washable coating with outstanding durability and excellent flow and leveling.
Recommended Uses:
This product is recommended for use on interior drywall, masonry, plaster, metal, walls, wood, metal, and previously painted surfaces.
Application Systems:
  • Drywall: 1 coat of Pratt & Lambert® Drywall Primer followed by 1 or 2 coats of RedSeal® Interior Oil.
  • Masonry (cured 30+ days): 1 coat of Pratt & Lambert® Multi-Purpose Waterborne Primer followed by 1 or 2 coats of RedSeal® Interior Oil.
  • Concrete Block: Use Pro-Hide® Silver Latex Block Filler for a filled effect, followed by 1 or 2 coats of RedSeal® Interior Oil.
  • Plaster (cured 30+ days): 1 coat of Pratt & Lambert® Multi-Purpose Waterborne Primer followed by 1 or 2 coats of RedSeal® Interior Oil.
  • Wood: 1 coat of Pratt & Lambert® Multi-Surface Oil Base Primer or Multi-Purpose Waterborne Primer followed by 1 or 2 coats of RedSeal® Interior Oil.
  • Metal: 1 coat of Pratt & Lambert® Multi-Purpose Waterborne Primer followed by 1 or 2 coats of RedSeal® Interior Oil.
  • Previously Painted Surfaces: No primer necessary, apply 2 coats of RedSeal® Interior Oil.

  • Spread Rate: 400 sq. ft. per gallon, dependent on porosity and texture.
  • Drying Time: To touch in 4 hours, to recoat in 16 hours.
Surface Preparation:
Ensure surfaces are free of contaminants. Sand or scrape to remove loose paint and smooth surfaces. Fill cracks and holes with spackling paste. Special care is needed for surfaces with lead-based paint.
Application Instructions:
  • Temperature: Apply above 50°F.
  • Airless Spray: Pressure at 2000 psi, tip size .015” - .019”.
  • Conventional Spray: Air pressure 40-60 psi, fluid pressure 20 psi.
  • Brush: Use natural bristle brush.
  • Roller: Use 3/8” lambs wool cover.
Performance Tips:
Ensure thorough cleaning and preparation of surfaces. Use appropriate sealants and caulks for gaps and openings.
Cautions:
For interior use only. Not suitable for horizontal surfaces or areas where water will collect.
Clean Up:
Use soap and warm water for spills and tools. Flush spray equipment with mineral spirits to prevent rusting.
