Product catalog summary
Quick Setup: Position the Portacool 510 on a level surface, fill the tank, and plug it into an appropriate outlet. Ensure the Kuul Comfort™ evaporative media is wet before starting the fan. Adequate airflow is necessary for optimal performance, especially in semi-closed environments.
Operation Warnings: The cooler is not for use by children or individuals with reduced capabilities. Avoid using with damaged cords, and do not cover cords with rugs. Always unplug before maintenance. Use of extension cords is discouraged unless they meet specific requirements.
Features: The cooler includes a water level indicator with pump shutoff, oscillating louvers for wider airflow, and a GFCI for electrical safety. The control panel indicates low water levels with a red light.
Maintenance: Daily, turn off the pump before the fan to dry the media. Weekly, drain the tank and clean it. Use Portacool Hard Water Treatment™ if necessary to prevent mineral buildup.
Storage: Drain and clean the tank, secure the power cord, and cover the cooler to prevent dust accumulation.
Troubleshooting: Common issues include failure to start, inadequate air delivery, and unpleasant odors. Remedies involve checking power sources, repositioning the cooler, and cleaning or replacing parts as needed.
Warranty: The cooler has a one-year warranty on parts and a lifetime warranty on housings, provided there is no misuse or unauthorized modifications.
Technical Support: Available through distributors or directly from Portacool Customer Service.
FAQ: No assembly is required. For storage, drain and dry the cooler. Initial use may produce a slight odor that diminishes over time.
Specifications and Environment: For optimal performance of Portacool evaporative coolers, the temperature should be 85˚ F or higher with relative humidity below 75%. These coolers can reduce temperature in almost any environment.
Maintenance and Replacement: Kuul Comfort™ evaporative media typically last up to five years, depending on maintenance and usage. Replacement parts can be purchased online or through distributors.
Evaporative Cooling vs. Misting Systems: Evaporative coolers use evaporation to cool air without producing mist, unlike misting systems that spray water.
Moisture and Water Supply: The system increases humidity by approximately 2-5%, which is not noticeable in ventilated areas. Without a direct water source, the water in the tank lasts 2-10 hours, depending on conditions.
Procedure for Replacing Kuul Comfort™ Evaporative Media: 1. Unplug the cooler and lock casters. 2. Remove the flap and media by unscrewing and lifting out. 3. Replace media starting from the edges, ensuring arrows point up and inward. 4. Secure the flap with screws.
Additional Information: Model numbers start with "PAC" and serial numbers are digits. For unanswered questions, visit Portacool's website or contact customer service. Manuals are available in multiple languages online.

GFCI The Portacool® 510 utilizes a GFCI (Grounded Fault Circuit Interrupter) to help protect users against ground electrical faults, which prevent some fire and electrical shock hazards. These devices are intended to trip at very low leakage currents. The Portacool 510 model (PAC5101A1) uses a GFCI, which is built into the power cord. The GFCI on these models will automatically reset when the evaporative cooler is plugged into an electrical outlet. If the GFCI is tripped and a simple “reset” will not work, please contact the Portacool Customer Service at (936) 598-5651 or (800) 695-2942 for more...

FEATURES WATER LEVEL INDICATOR / PUMP SHUTOFF A water level indicator with integral shutoff gives a visual indication of the water level in the evaporative cooler and will shut off the pump once the water reaches a certain threshold. When this occurs, a red light on the control panel will illuminate to draw attention to the low water level condition and alert the user that the pump has shut off. This light may cycle on and off for a few minutes to draw attention to the low water condition as it tries to exhaust the remaining water. In order to restart the pump and reset the light, water must...
