Product Information FORMATURF TRIONSTEIN Reimagining sports pitch construction. One component, endless possibilities. TrionStein by FormaTurf is reinventing sports pitch construction. This innovative, patented construction element is made entirely from recycled materials reclaimed from old artificial turf systems. Its versatility is impressive: use it as an edging stone, turf-clamp panel, finishing stone for artificial turf, or as an edging board (see illustrated examples on the following pages). The TrionStein is produced using the patented FormaTurf Composite process. Designed with functionality in mind, the TrionStein features anti-slip studs on its top surface and two drainage holes, sealed with a thin layer that can be removed if required. It also includes a recess for securing a root barrier, making it a practical, sustainable solution for modern sports pitch construction. Application Examples 1. Use as an Edging Stone: As an edging stone, the TrionStein separates vegetation from paved areas and prevents the growth of grass and weeds. It meets current technical standards and is suitable for creating borders in both public and private sports facilities. The TrionStein is ideal as an edging plate, for example along the edge of an athletics track. Its studded surface provides a safe, non-slip transition to the playing area. The plate also features a recess or groove in the concrete base where a root barrier can be secured. In combination with the separately available clamping strip, the TrionStein can also be used as a clamping system for artificial turf. It works with all common turf types, including short, textured hockey turf and long-pile football turf. Depending on the turf type, it can be clamped from the side or pulled under the clamping strip and then secured. With the additional drainage function, rainwater can flow freely through the clamping system.
