Polysol IR 150

Polysol IR 150

Product catalog summary
Product Overview: POLYSOL IR 150 is an insulating system that combines a plastomeric waterproofing membrane with rock wool strips. The membrane is reinforced with glass fibre or non-woven polyester fabric, providing excellent acoustic, thermal insulation, and flame resistance.
Quality and Standards: The product is manufactured under UNI ISO 9001 and UNI ISO 14001 standards, ensuring compliance with European regulations. It is recommended to use an adequate vapour barrier for optimal performance.
Product Description: The system uses volcanic rock wool treated with thermosetting resins, cut into strips for increased compression strength. The membrane is made with NAT® technology to control the ageing of the polymeric matrix.
Application Areas: Suitable for waterproofing and insulating various roof types, including walkable and non-walkable civil and industrial roofs. It adapts to surface roughness and fits curving surfaces.
Installation Instructions: The product should be laid with the grey membrane facing up and anchored appropriately. Methods include flaming with propane gas, molten bitumen oxide, glue, or mechanical fixings. Ensure the surface is dry, clean, and smooth before application.
Storage and Handling: Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid contact with organic liquids and solvents, and prevent puncturing during installation.
Technical Characteristics:
  • Thermal Conductivity: 0.038 W/mK
  • Water Vapour Transmission: 1.3 - 1.4 m2h Pa/mg
  • Nominal Density: 150 kg/m3
  • Specific Heat: 840 J/kgK
  • Melting Point: ≥1000°C
  • Compressive Strength at 10% Deformation: 0.072 N/mm2
  • Tear Resistance: 0.0125 N/mm2
  • Reaction to Fire: Class A1
Waterproofing Membrane Characteristics:
  • Thickness: 3 mm (±0.2)
  • Weight per Unit Area: 3.5 kg/m2 (±10%)
  • Tensile Strength: Longitudinal 300 N/50 mm, Transversal 200 N/50 mm
  • Static Load Strength: Longitudinal and Transversal 4 N/50 mm
  • Cold Flexibility: <-10°C
  • Waterproofing: >60 KPa
Dimensions and Packaging: Available in various thicknesses (30-120 mm) with specific roll and panel dimensions. Other colors are available upon request.
Application Method: The installation involves positioning the roll over the vapour barrier, torching for adhesion, fixing overlaps, and inserting breather pipes as necessary.
