Technical Description

The membranes contain SBS polymer for flexibility and are reinforced with polyester and glass fibers for mechanical strength. The mineral version features a protective layer of natural or colored granules for UV protection. The membranes are suitable for waterproofing metal or prefabricated structures, terraces, domes, and shed roofs.

Intended Use and Compliance

FLEXO-LIGHT membranes comply with EN 13707 (roofing layers) and EN 13969 TYPE T (foundation layers) standards. They are suitable for single-layer or multi-layer waterproofing systems, root barriers, vapor barriers, and foundations under roofing tiles. Thickness options range from 3 mm to 4.5 mm (mineral version).

Storage and Handling Recommendations

Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep rolls standing; avoid stacking pallets directly on top of each other.
Avoid contact with solvents or organic liquids.
Prevent punctures by avoiding sharp objects and concentrated loads.

Available Colors and Finishes

The mineral-surfaced membranes come in grey, green, red, white, and brown, with other colors available on request. FLEXO-LIGHT features a top surface coated with an anti-adhesive transparent polyethylene film or lightweight polypropylene, while the mineral version has a granule protective layer.

Application and Installation Guidelines

Prepare the surface by applying a bituminous primer (POLYPRIMER HP 45 Professional) at 300 g/m².
Position corner borders near horizontal-vertical joints.
Remove product identification tape completely before application.
In cold weather, preheat the membrane roll before installation.
Apply the membrane by lightly flaming the bottom surface with propane gas.
Pull the membrane up against vertical surfaces to a certain height.
Overlap sheets properly without crossing them.
Roll overlapping areas with a special pressing roller to ensure sealing.
Use mechanical fixing when combined with insulation or in deep/complex applications.
Examples provided for external/internal corners and vent pipe detailing.

Limitations and Recommendations

Top layers in exposed systems must be protected from UV rays using slate chippings (mineral version) or protective/reflective paint.
Heavy protection systems require minimum thicknesses of 7 mm when using multiple layers.
Avoid laying membranes at extreme temperatures and prevent punctures during installation.
