Nearlygrass case studies Children welcome year-round playground When Anderton Primary School needed to redesign their outdoor play area, they decided to make the most of the area by asking Playrite to help them make it a year round option for the children. The existing grass area was much loved, but this also meant that it was well worn, causing problems with mud in wet weather. Anderton Primary School chose Nearlygrass 24 for the 120m2 area. Giving the appearance of grass, whilst also providing a more usable area, year round, this new surface has proved hugely popular with the children already. Playrite Sales Area Manager Mark Waite said "Because the grass area was popular, the school didn't want to lose it, but with Nearlygrass 24, they didn't need to - so it suits everyone." Nearlygrass 40 was chosen as it would provide a long lasting, durable result; the two tone fibres giving a very realistic lawn like appearance. Over the course of just one weekend, the old lawn was removed, the sub-base of sand prepared and levelled to provide the perfect base. Once unrolled and acclimatised the Nearlygrass 40 was laid into the contours of the worn out lawn. The result? A beautifully presented lawn which can be played on all year round.
