PENEPLUG

Product catalog summary
Description: PENEPLUG® is a rapid-setting, integral crystalline cementitious waterstop designed to stop active water leaks and moisture ingress. It is suitable for both internal and external use as a waterproof plugging mortar, especially where rapid setting and early strength gain are required.
Recommended For: PENEPLUG® is ideal for plugging/stopping active water leaks, sealing leaking joints, form tie holes, or cracks. It can be applied on substrates such as concrete, masonry, earthenware, and stone.
Advantages: The product stops water flow, sets in approximately 30 seconds after mixing, is durable, can be used underwater, and is easy to apply. It is packaged in re-sealable containers and contains zero volatile organic compounds (VOC), making it safe for use both outdoors and in confined indoor spaces.
Directions for Use:
  • Surface Preparation: Ensure the substrate is clean, sound, and free of contaminants. Leaking areas should be cut back to sound material.
  • Mixing: The standard mixing ratio at 68°F (20°C) is 2.5 lb (1.1 kg) of PENEPLUG® with approximately 1 cup (0.25 l) of water. The mixture should have a dry pack consistency. Mixing time is about 15 seconds, with setting occurring about 30 seconds later.
  • Application: Apply PENEPLUG® immediately after mixing, forming it into a wedge and forcing it into the leak. Hold firmly in place for about 30 seconds or until set. After stopping the leak, prime the area with PENETRON® and fill the remaining void with PENECRETE MORTAR™.
Packaging: Available in 40 lb (18 kg) bags or 55 lb (25 kg) pails.
Storage/Shelf Life: Store dry at a minimum temperature of 45°F (7°C). When stored properly, the shelf life is 12 months.
Safe Handling Information: Contains cement which is alkaline and may irritate eyes and skin. Use appropriate protection and refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for more information. Keep out of reach of children.
Technical Specifications: Compressive strength is Class R3 (≥ 25 MPa), chloride content is < 0.05% by mass, and it is deemed to have no corrosive effect.
Warranty: PENETRON INTERNATIONAL, LTD. warrants that its products are free from material defects and conform to formulation standards. Liability is limited to replacement of defective material.

Mixing: Setting time is dependent largely on the amount of mixing water used. Standard mixing ratio at 68°F (20°C) is 2.5 lb (1.1 kg) PENEPLUG® and approximately 1 cup (0.25 l) of water. Water must be added to PENEPLUG® and mixed quickly. The mix should have a dry pack (dry earth) consistency, holding a shape when squeezed in your hand but easily crumbled when pressed with ngers. After mixing, apply PENEPLUG® to the appropriate area immediately. Material should be formed into a wedge and forced into the leak. This can be accomplished with the use of a block of wood and hammer. Work the plug well into the area and then, applying as much pressure as possible, hold rmly in place for about 30 seconds or until set.
