Product catalog summary
Description: Panel Rey's Regular Gypsum Board is a fireproof drywall product with a gypsum core, covered on both sides with 100% recycled paper. It is available in various lengths and thicknesses and does not contain asbestos.
Basic Applications: This drywall is used for covering and protecting walls and ceilings in residential projects. It can be attached using screws, nails, or adhesives on wood, metal, or existing surfaces. When joints are treated, it prevents smoke passage.
Thickness Options:
  • 3/8” Thick: Suitable for double coat wall systems and remodeling projects, easily moldable to curved surfaces.
  • 1/2” Thick: Recommended for single coat applications on dividing walls.
  • 5/8” Thick: Offers higher fire resistance and reduced acoustic transmission.
Limitations: Designed for interior use only. Avoid exposure to temperatures above 125°F/52°C and excessive moisture. Not a structural element and should not be used as a nailing base.
Handling and Storage: Keep drywall dry to prevent mold growth. Protect during transit with weather-tight covers and store in a dry area with proper support to avoid sagging. Handle with care to prevent damage to edges and corners.
Good Installation Practices: For curved surfaces, moisten the drywall for flexibility. Refer to Gypsum Association Journal GA-214-97 for finishing levels. Ensure clean surfaces and proper ventilation during installation.
Fire Resistance: Fire resistance is determined by tests in independent labs. Ensure all components meet specified standards.
Applicable Standards: Manufactured according to ASTM C-1396 Section 5 (C-36) and ASTM C-36. Installation follows ASTM C-840. Surface burning characteristics tested under ASTM E-84 with flame spread and smoke developed ratings of 0.
Product Data: Available in nominal dimensions with beveled edges. Thermal resistance varies by thickness. Physical properties include weight, nail pull resistance, core and edge hardness, and flexural strength.

Curved Surfaces: To apply a drywall on a curved surface, fix one of the ends of the drywall and gradually push the other end of the same, pushing the core against the frame until the desired curve is reached.
