Product Overview: Panel Rey's Exterior Soffit X and Exterior Soffit C are fireproof gypsum-based boards reinforced with high-temperature resistant fibers and special additives. They are covered with 100% recycled paper and are available in various lengths with a standard thickness of 5/8". These products do not contain asbestos.

Applications: Designed for protected exterior ceilings in residential and commercial projects, these boards provide fire resistance by dispersing fire and heat. They are suitable for installation with screws, nails, or adhesives on wood, metal, or existing surfaces. The boards are recommended for 1 to 2 coats for exterior ceiling applications.

Limitations: The boards should not be exposed to temperatures above 125°F (52°C) or excessive moisture. They are not structural elements and should not be used as a nailing base. Ceiling frame gaps must comply with ASTM C-840 standards.

Handling and Storage: To prevent mold growth, the boards must be kept dry and protected from adverse weather during transport and storage. They should not be stored on the ground and must be supported properly to avoid sagging.

Installation Practices: The work area temperature should be at least 50°F (10°C) for adhesive application. Proper ventilation is required. Surfaces must be clean and primed before finishing. Refer to the Gypsum Association Journal GA-214-97 for finishing guidelines.

Fire Resistance and Standards: The boards are manufactured to meet ASTM C-1396, E-84, and E-119 standards. They have a flame spread and smoke developed rating of 0. The fire resistance performance is determined by tests in independent laboratories.

Technical Data: The boards have a weight resistance of ≥ 50 lb/SF and a nail pull resistance of ≥ 150 lb f. They are available in lengths of 8-12 ft with beveled edges.
