DRYWALL LIGHT REY®

DRYWALL LIGHT REY®

Product catalog summary
Description
The Panel Rey Light Rey® Gypsum board is a lightweight construction material with a fireproof plaster core, covered with recycled paper. It is designed for strength and protection, available in various lengths and standard thicknesses. Key advantages include being lighter than regular boards, compliance with wall and ceiling performance standards, and ease of installation. It supports various finishes and contains no asbestos.

Basic Applications
Light Rey® Gypsum board is suitable for covering and protecting walls and ceilings in new or refurbished constructions. It can be fixed to wooden, metal, or existing surfaces using screws, nails, or adhesives. The ½” thickness is recommended for single-layer applications in residential constructions, particularly for dividing walls and ceilings requiring resistance to humidity.

Limiting Factors
These boards are intended for interior use only and should not be exposed to temperatures above 52°C or excessive humidity. They are not structural elements and should not be used as a base for screws or nails. Profile spacing should not exceed 24’’ (61 cm) O.C.

Handling and Storage
Gypsum boards should be stored in low humidity conditions to prevent mold and fungi growth. They must be protected during transit and stored horizontally on adequate supports to avoid warping. Edges should be handled carefully to ensure proper installation.

Best Installation Practices
Installation should occur at temperatures below 10°C with proper ventilation. Surfaces must be clean before decoration, and a primer should be applied to match porosity. For areas with severe light exposure or gloss paint, a composite layer and sealant are recommended.

Applicable Standards
Manufacturing and installation adhere to ASTM C1396 and ASTM C840 standards, respectively. Surface characteristics against fire are tested under ASTM E-84, with flame propagation and smoke generation rated at 0.

Fire Resistance
Fire resistance is determined by tests in independent labs, requiring specific materials and configurations. Compliance with fire resistance standards necessitates adherence to tested designs.
