La lampada a sospensione Grid, disegnata da Brian Rasmussen, prende il nome dalla griglia in Forex che ne caratterizza il design, funzionale e decorativa allo stesso tempo. Grid è una lampada dalla forma classica e originale: alla forma semisferica e regolare della cupola affianca quella di linee che si intersecano e che vanno così a dare movimento alla lampada. Ecco come il designer racconta l’idea di Grid: “La griglia, frangiluce, non ne poteva più. Era da una vita che stava appesa là, immobile, rigida, ferma. Anche lei voleva provare la sensazione di essere considerata un elemento decorativo invece di essere solo una mera necessità tecnica e funzionale. Così, una notte, quando nessuno era presente, si è lasciata andare e, con l’aiuto della gravità, ha creato una forma nuova. Il tutto tenuto insieme da una sua cara amica: la cupola. Nasce così Grid”. The Grid pendant lamp designed by Brian Rasmussen takes its name from the Forex grid which distinguishes its design, that is both functional and decorative at the same time. The Grid lamp has a classical, yet original shape: the hemispherical and regular shape of the dome is supported by the criss-crossing lines that give the lamp movement. Here are the designer’s thoughts about the idea behind Grid: “The anti-glare grid could stand it no longer. It has been hanging there for a lifetime – motionless, fixed, still. The grid wanted to know what it was like to be a decorative element instead of a mere technical and functional requirement, so one night, when no one was around, the grid let go and, helped by the force of gravity, created a new shape.
