The story behind our tiles Producing tiles and mouldings can be a messy business – after all, tiles are made from natural clay and their glazes are made from raw materials such as clays, flint, quartz, various minerals and water. Achieving excellence Tiles are checked several times during their journey through the production process to ensure a near perfect result. Hand decorating Designs with intricate details are screen printed in small batches. Hand painting It needs a great deal of skill and a steady hand to hand paint the fine details on our relief moulded, raised-line and tube lined single tiles (see pages 78-79 for more details) A perfect finish Smooth and glossy tiles finish their passage through the production process and are ready to be given a new home.
