cnica - Fiche tecnique - Karta danych technicznych NORDGROVE® PRIMERLiquid adhesive for GROVE systems and screeds Description GROVE PRIMER is a watery additive consisting of high molecular weight elastomeric polymers that, once added to cementitious systems, considerably increase their gripping properties on "difficult" surfaces. Where to use GROVE PRIMER is an adhesive specifically designed for all mortars belonging to the GROVE series, GROVE MASSETTO and both SC 1 and SC 1-R ready screeds. Moreover, it can be used as an adhesive latex for any cement-based product. Application Surface preparation GROVE PRIMER treatment must be preceded by a quick cleaning of the surface to remove dust and all foreign substances; tiled surfaces should be washed with NORDECAL FORTE (or NORDECAL FORTE GEL) and rinsed. Mixture preparation To prepare an effective slurry, the usual formulation is the following: • 3 parts by weight of cementitious product • 1 part by weight of GROVE PRIMER. Where the cementitious part consists of 1 part cement and 2-3 parts sand; in order to make operations easier, the cementitious part can be substituted by GROVE MASSETTO or any other pre-mixed product like, for instance, SC 1 or SC 1-F. Operating procedure • pour in a mixing container GROVE PRIMER in a quantity equal to approx. 25-30% by weight (depending on the required grout type) of the product to be added; • then add the powdered product (the remaining 70-75% by weight) while under agitation; • stir until a fluid grouting is obtained adjusting fluidity by the addition of water or GROVE PRIMER; • pour onto the surface and brush or paint the product in order to distribute it evenly; • once the slurry is applied, proceed with overcoating with the subsequent product's layer within half an hour. Coverage The average coverage is 0.3 liters per square meter.
