Product catalog summary
Product Overview
CEM-OX is a single-component passivating grout designed for reinforcing bars. It is formulated with cementitious binders and polymer powders to protect against corrosion and to create adhesion bridges between old concrete and repair mortars.

Applications
CEM-OX is used for treating exposed reinforcement irons during concrete restoration and for repairing badly carbonated concrete.

Advantages
  • Monocomponent formulation
  • Excellent adhesion to concrete

Application Procedure
  1. Ensure reinforcing steel is free from rust by brushing or sandblasting.
  2. Mix 5 kg of CEM-OX with 1-1.5 liters of water to form a lump-free paste.
  3. Apply the first coat of CEM-OX to reinforcing irons, ensuring a 1 mm thick layer.
  4. After 1 hour, apply a second coat to achieve a total thickness of 2 mm.
  5. Apply GROVE RIPRISTINO within 2-3 hours after the second coat.

Coverage and Consumption
Approximately 1.75 kg/m² is needed for a 1 mm dry film thickness. Consumption is about 0.12 to 0.2 kg per linear meter for a 10 mm rod.

Cleaning
Tools can be cleaned with water if the product is fresh; hardened product must be removed mechanically.

Technical Specifications
  • Application temperature: +5°C to +35°C
  • Mixture life: about 1 hour
  • Adhesion to concrete: 2 MPa

Packaging and Storage
Available in 2 kg plastic buckets. Store in a dry place at +5°C to +35°C for up to 12 months.

Technical data sheet - Scheda tecnica - Fiche tecnique - Karta danych technicznych (ID CONCRETE REPAIR dD RIPRISTINO DEL CALCESTRUZZO dD RESTAURATION DU BETON (PL) NAPRAWA BETONU NORD CEM-OX Passivating grout for reinforcing bars Description CEM-OX is a one component product based on cementitious binders, polymer powders. CEM-OX is specially formulated both as a reinforcing steel corrosion protection and for the construction of adhesion bridges between old concrete parts to be renovated and repair mortars. Where to Use CEM-OX is used exclusively to treat reinforcement irons that may have been exposed during concrete restoration or following removal of unsteady parts, as well as badly carbonated concrete in need of repair. Advantages The product: • is monocomponent; • exhibits excellent adhesion to concrete. Application To ensure that CEM-OX has the possibility of effectively developing its anticorrosive properties, it is essential that the iron, before treatment, is completely freed from rust. Then proceed as described below. Preparing the Substrate • thoroughly clean and remove all loose particles; • brush or sandblast the reinforcing steel scheduled for treatment until all traces of rust are removed; • wash with water the laying surface. How to Use • Mix 5 kg of CEM-OX with 1^1.5 liters of clean water and mix slowly with a low rpm U shaped anchor paddle for solids , until a lump-free paste is obtained. CEM-OX should be applied within one hour of preparation. • Brush on a first coat of CEM-OX on reinforcing irons taking care to fully coat them with an approx. 1 mm thick product layer. • After 1 or more hours, apply a second coat as above mentioned. We recommend to completely and homogeneously cover the surface of the iron. The total thickness of the two coats must be at least 2 mm. • Then coat the part to be compensated with GROVE RIPRISTINO within 2-3 hours. Coverage To obtain a dry film having a thickness of about 1 mm, it is necessary to apply approximately 1.75 kg of product per m2. How to Clean the Tools Tools and brushes can be cleaned with water if the product is fresh, while if the product has hardened it must be removed mechanically. Consumption About 0.12 to 0.2 kg/linear meter (estimate for a 10 mm rod) Warnings and technical information • Apply at a temperature between +5°C and +35°C. • Do not dilute CEM OX with water when the product begins to set. • Apply CEM OX immediately after sand blasting (once sanded do not leave the rods without protection for a long time). • CEM-OX is not usable as a finish, but is designed to be always covered by subsequent finishing treatments.
