F1255

Product catalog summary
Overview
The NIBE F1255 is an intelligent, inverter-controlled ground source heat pump with an integrated water heater, designed for optimal energy savings by adapting to home heating demands. It is available in three output sizes (1.5-6 kW, 3-12 kW, and 4-16 kW) suitable for various property sizes. The pump features smart technology for energy control and an efficient system for maximum comfort.
Specifications
The F1255 includes a 180-litre water heater with optimal insulation. The F1255-6 model has a 6.5 kW immersion heater, while the F1255-12 and F1255-16 models have a 7 kW electric heater, switchable to 9 kW. It is built on a robust frame with soundproofing.
Installation Methods
The heat pump can collect solar energy from rock, ground, or water using different collector methods: borehole, buried ground collector, or lake collector.
Principle of Operation
The pump transfers heat from the source (rock, soil, lake) via a closed brine system, releasing energy to the refrigerant in the evaporator, which is then compressed and passed to the condenser to heat the medium circuit and water heater.
Installation and Positioning
Installation requires a fixed foundation with floor drainage, ideally against an outside wall in a noise-insensitive room, with adequate space for maintenance.
Pipe Installation
Piping must comply with norms and directives, operating with a return temperature up to 58°C and outgoing temperature of 70°C. Shut-off valves and particle filters are recommended.
Control System
The heat pump uses a "floating condensing" principle, adjusting temperature based on outdoor conditions, with pre-programmed and customizable heating curves. Hot water production is managed by set temperatures, with options for temporary increases.
Additional Features
Accessories are available for ventilation recovery, free cooling, underfloor heating, pool heating, and multiple climate systems. Functions include floor drying and brine control.
NIBE Uplink
Provides remote monitoring and control via the internet, with basic and premium service levels, alerts for malfunctions, and remote comfort adjustments.
Associated Equipment Requirements
Requires a network cable (Cat 5E UTP), internet connection, and JavaScript-supporting browser. SMS control is available with the SMS 40 accessory if internet is unavailable.
Display Features
Operated through a user-friendly display showing instructions, settings, and operational information, with a USB socket for software updates and data logging.
Dimensions and Pipe Connections
Detailed dimensions and pipe connection specifications are provided for heating medium, cold/hot water, and brine in/out connections.
Technical Data
Available in different voltage versions, featuring an energy meter and passive cooling. Includes electrical data, heating capacity, COP, SCOP, energy ratings, noise levels, and refrigerant information for different models.
Working Range and Diagrams
The compressor supplies temperatures up to 65°C, with additional heat up to 70°C. Diagrams illustrate working range, compressor speed, and cooling mode, emphasizing correct pump speed for optimal performance.
Specifications
Technical specifications focus on pump capacity and manual operation, detailing available pressure, flow rate, and electrical input for different operational percentages.
Accessories
Compatible accessories include ACS 45, HPAC 40, ECS 40/ECS 41, PCS 44, NIBE FLM, EF 45, SMS 40, PCM 42, POOL 40, KB 25/32, RMU 40, AXC 40, and a Ventilation Heat Exchanger.

This is how F1255 works Installation method Rock F1255 collects a proportion of the rock’s stored solar energy via a collector in a borehole in the rock. F1255 collects a proportion of the water’s stored solar energy via a lake collector that is anchored on the lake bed. F1255 collects a proportion of the ground's stored solar energy via a buried ground collector. Good to know about F1255 Transport and storage F1255 should be transported and stored vertically in a dry place. When being moved into a building, F1255 may be leant back 45 °. The product can be tail heavy. Remove the outer panels in order to protect them when moving in confined spaces inside buildings. 0 EXTRACTING THE COOLING MODULE To simplify transport and service, the heat pump can be separated by pulling the cooling module out from the cabinet. See section "Service" in the installer manual for comprehensive instructions about the separation.

Supplied components Local differences in the enclosed kit may occur. See relevant installer manual for more information. • Position F1255 on a fixed foundation that can take the weight of the heat pump. • Because water comes from F1255, the area where the heating pump is located must be equipped with floor drainage. • Install with its back to an outside wall, ideally in a room where noise does not matter, in order to eliminate noise problems. If this is not possible, avoid placing it against a wall behind a bedroom or other room where noise may be a problem. • Wherever the unit is located, walls...

Installation Inspection of the installation Current regulations require the heating installation to be inspected before it is commissioned. The inspection must be carried out by a suitably qualified person. Pipe installation Pipe installation must be carried out in accordance with current norms and directives. F1255 can operate with a return temperature of up to 58 °C and an outgoing temperature from the heat pump of 70 (65 °C with only the compressor). F1255 is not equipped with external shut off valves; these must be installed to facilitate any future servicing. PIPE CONNECTION BRINE • Insulate...

Guideline values for collectors The length of the collector hose varies depending on the rock/soil conditions, climate zone and on the climate system (radiators or underfloor heating) and the heating requirement of the building Each installation must be sized individually. Max length per coil for the collector should not exceed 400 m. In those cases where it is necessary to have several collectors, these should be connected in parallel with the possibility for adjusting the flow of the relevant coil. For surface soil heat, the hose should be buried at a depth determined by local conditions and...

Functions Control, general The indoor temperature depends on several different factors. Sunlight and heat emissions from people and household machines are normally sufficient to keep the house warm during the warmer parts of the year. When it gets colder outside, the climate system must be started. The colder it is outside, the warmer radiators and under floor heating system must be. The heat pump is controlled by built-in supply and return brine temperature sensors (collector). Brine return temperatures can, if necessary, be limited to a minimum e.g. for ground water systems. Control of the...
