"With Pacific, we picked up the narrative started with Redondo, which tells of sinuous and welcoming shapes. For this collection, I designed deliberately emphasised roundness, able to convey the same warmth as a hug, gently enveloping in the curved backrest. I wanted to recover all the essentiality of design of the 1950s, starting with the docile profile, without corners, and using upholstery that has a very soft touch, thanks to the choice of fabrics with a domestic feeling. Patricia Urquiola studied architecture and design at Madrid Polytechnic and Milan Polytechnic, graduating with Achille Castiglioni. She has received the Gold Medal of the Arts and the Order of Isabel the Catholic in Spain.
