Product catalog summary
Introduction
The Monolith ceramic grill is a multifunctional outdoor cooking appliance designed for grilling, smoking, baking, cooking, drying, and roasting. This manual provides guidance on setup, usage, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Advantages
The grill combines the features of a traditional grill and a stone oven, offering a temperature range from 70°C to 400°C. It is energy-efficient, using minimal charcoal and oxygen, which helps retain moisture in food. A unique wood chip feed system allows for adding smoky flavors without opening the lid.
Overview
Constructed from heat-resistant ceramics and stainless steel, the grill includes bamboo side tables and a sturdy cart. It features a thermometer, wood chip feed system, and dual-disc ventilation cap for precise temperature control.
Unpacking and Setup
Unpack the grill carefully to avoid damaging ceramic components. Setup instructions vary slightly for the Classic, Junior, and Le Chef models, with specific guidance for assembling with or without a cart. Key components include a charcoal basket, fire grate, and deflector stone for indirect cooking.
Assembly Instructions
For cart models, assemble the cart first, ensuring stability and proper alignment. For non-cart models, use ceramic feet for stability. Handle ceramic parts with care to prevent breakage.
Igniting the Charcoal
Select between the cast iron fire grate or charcoal basket based on desired temperature and cooking duration. The charcoal basket allows for higher temperatures due to increased airflow.
Care and Maintenance
Regularly check and tighten screws, especially on metal bands. The grill requires minimal maintenance and can be used year-round, even in winter.
Safety Tips
Place the grill on a stable surface away from combustible materials. Avoid operating in enclosed spaces due to high temperatures.
Warranty
The Monolith grill includes a 10-year warranty. For detailed warranty information, visit the official website.
Specifications and Setup
The grill uses high-quality, large lump charcoal and can reach temperatures over 450°C. It should be used outdoors, away from combustible materials, and never indoors. It features a divided charcoal basket for creating direct and indirect grilling zones.
Lighting and Temperature Control
Form a hollow in the charcoal and light from the top without chemical accelerants. Use the LOOFTLIGHTER or chemical-free fire starters. Adjust the air vent and ventilation cap to control temperature, with caution not to exceed 500°C to avoid damage.
Grilling Methods
The grill supports direct grilling, indirect grilling with a deflector stone, and pizza baking with a pizza stone. Each method requires specific setup and temperature adjustments.
Care and Maintenance
Clean the exterior with water and mild detergent. The interior can be cleaned by heating to 450°C to burn off residues. Avoid water inside the grill. Regularly check and tighten metal bands, and replace the gasket as needed.
Safety Precautions
Always wear gloves when handling hot components. Avoid using chemical accelerants. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent backdrafts. Keep children and pets away from the grill.
Warranty
The Monolith grill has a 10-year warranty on ceramic components and a 2-year warranty on metal components, valid for the original purchaser. The warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship but excludes damage from improper use or unauthorized modifications.

B. Form a hollow in the centre of the charcoal and light from the top. Please do not use chemical or liquid accelerants, as the fumes can be absorbed by the ceramic unit and may adversely affect the flavour and quality of the food. We recommend the LOOFTLIGHTER or chemical free fire accelerants. Close the lid and open the air vent and ventilation cap. Due to the chimney effect the charcoal heats up extremely fast (approx. 15 minutes). CAUTION: Do not use chemical or liquid fire accelerants. C. Once you reached the required temperature, adjusting the air vent and ventilation cap, leaving a gap...
