Product catalog summary
System Overview
The iNVent 2 Control system is a microprocessor-based system designed to manage four zones of Monodraught Natural Ventilation systems. It is an enhanced version of the previous iNVent control panel, offering more features and flexibility.
Power
The system operates on a 60W external switched mode power supply, converting 240V AC to 24V DC. This power is distributed across the four zones and auxiliary feeds, with resettable fuses for protection against short circuits and overloads.
User Interface
The interface features an LCD, buttons, and LEDs. The LCD shows configuration settings and system status, buttons allow navigation through information pages, and LEDs indicate power and operational status.
Connectivity
The iNVent 2 panel supports USB, JTAG, RS485, and BACnet connectivity. The USB port is used for configuration via the iNVent Configurator software, JTAG for firmware programming, and RS485 and BACnet for future network communication capabilities.
General Features
The panel includes an SD card slot for data logging, DIP switches for testing, a real-time clock with a backup battery, and a reset button for system reboots.
Master Controls
Inputs for rain sensors, heating interlock, fire alarms, smoke vents, and external temperature sensors are available. These inputs manage the operation of dampers, louvres, and windows based on environmental conditions.
Zone Inputs/Outputs
Each of the four zones can be configured to control Monodraught Natural Ventilation systems, with connections for damper/louvre and wall actuator controls, RS485 digital interface, and sensor inputs.
Control Strategy
The system uses strategies for CO2 control, night-time cooling, and input prioritization to optimize ventilation.
Specifications
The iNVent 2 panel includes four 0-10V outputs and inputs for versatile configuration. It supports communication with Building Management Systems (BMS) for temperature data exchange, preventing system conflicts. The panel features general-purpose inputs for additional sensors and solid-state relays for heating and cooling control, which will be supported in future firmware updates.
Control Features
The system employs a Seasonal Automatic Temperature Control strategy, adjusting damper and louvre positions based on internal and external temperatures and seasonal changes. It includes CO2 control, night-time cooling, and input priority settings to manage various operational scenarios.
Operational Strategies
Tables outline damper and louvre operations across different seasons, external temperature influences, and input priority lists. The system adapts to environmental conditions, such as activating Frost or Snow Mode under specific temperature thresholds.
Additional Information
The system can integrate additional temperature sensors for averaging in larger zones. It supports a maximum of three SOLA-BOOST or WINDCATCHER systems per zone and accommodates up to 24 Belimo actuators.

The iNVent 2 Control system is a microprocessor based system to control Four Zones of Monodraught Natural Ventilation systems. It is the successor of the iNVent control panel and by default operates in the same way, yet has a range of additional features and flexibility that allows it to do so much more. Power The iNVent 2 control panel is powered by an external 60W switched mode power supply that converts 240V AC to 24V DC. This 24V DC supply is distributed throughout the panel via resettable fuses to each of the 4 Zones, as well as to the other auxiliary 24V feeds. The 24V DC is also stepped down to 3.3V which is used to power all the control circuitry on the PCB. This means that the 24V feed to a connected product can be shorted without affecting the operation of the panel or the rest of the connected devices. The External SMPS has a current limit of 2.5A, but in actual use, this needs to...

Master Controls Rain Sensor Input (required) [7.1] The Rain Sensor Input requires a normally open volt-free contact wired between the “COM” and “NO” “Rain” terminals of J28 (upper level). When the contact is closed the system will close the active louvres and windows, but leave internal dampers on X-AIR® systems and wall louvres in their position based on the temperature/CO2 to allow continued ventilation in the space. If the ventilation system is a WINDCATCHER® Classic or SOLA-BOOST® system, then the dampers will fully close on rain. Heating Interlock Input (optional) [7.2] The Heating Interlock...

Control Strategy The iNVent 2 panel uses a Seasonal Automatic Temperature Control strategy to manage the air quality and room temperature of a zone. It varies the damper and louvre openings of Monodraught Natural Ventilation systems based on the internal and external temperatures, and adjusts for the current season. Other Information Additional Temperature Sensor and Averaging The Additional Temperature sensor is auto detected at power up and is used with the integrated sensor in the zone controller (SOLA-BOOST or WINDCATCHER) to give an average temperature in a larger zone, unless selected otherwise using the iNVent Configurator software. Zone Usage Maximum of 3 SOLA-BOOST (Classic / X-Air) systems (Power tracks) can be connected to one zone (controller) or a maximum of 3 WINDCATCHER (Classic / X-Air) systems (Damper Motors) can be connected to one zone. If the large dampers with 2 actuators are used or...
