Usage and Installation

The COIL–HCM is intended for spaces requiring intensive heating and cooling. Since May 1, 2009, it is supplied with connection fittings and flexible hoses (3/8") for heat exchanger connection. The 2-pipe connection maximizes heating and cooling performance. The tangential air flow design ensures efficient air distribution near the floor.

Temperature Equations

Heating and cooling outputs are calculated using temperature-dependent equations:

  • Heating: Q = QN * ((tW - tA) / 50)^m, where m = 0.9738, tW = mean heating water temperature, tA = mean air temperature, QN = nominal heat transfer rate at 70/20 °C.
  • Cooling: Q = QN * ((tW - tA) / 17)^m, where m = 1, tW = mean cooling water temperature, tA = mean air temperature, QN = nominal heat transfer rate at 9/26 °C.

Heat Transfer Rates

Heat transfer rates (Q) are provided for various unit lengths (900 mm to 2000 mm), water temperatures (50 °C to 90 °C for heating; 9 °C to 16 °C for cooling), and mean air temperatures (15 °C to 27 °C). The data is categorized by fan speed settings: minimum, medium, and maximum speed.

For heating, outputs increase with higher water temperatures, longer unit lengths, and higher fan speeds. For example, at 2000 mm length, 90 °C water temperature, and maximum fan speed, heating output reaches up to approximately 9.8 kW at 15 °C air temperature.

For cooling, outputs similarly increase with lower water temperatures, longer unit lengths, and higher fan speeds. Cooling outputs range from around 600 W to over 2.2 kW depending on conditions.
