Installation Overview
Metawell® gapless ceilings are available with either a smooth surface (non-sound absorbing) or perforated (sound absorbing) and can be passive (without copper tubes) or active (with copper tubes). Active panels feature copper tubes pressed into aluminum heat-conducting profiles, which are securely attached to the panel using adhesive tape and blind rivets. These ceilings are typically connected permanently to the supply network, with copper tubes either pressed or brazed to the room-side piping.

Design and Components
The design includes both passive and active jointless ceiling options, with components such as wide and small frames, hangers, connectors, and supply and return flow pipe connections. Different wall connections are available, including step angle and open shadow gap configurations.

Performance and Efficiency
Metawell® hospital ceilings, made from aluminum carrier plates with copper pipes, offer excellent heat conduction, resulting in fast response times and high performance for both heating and cooling. These ceilings are sustainable and energy-efficient, with the ability to be recycled at the end of their lifecycle. Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are available according to DIN EN ISO 14025 Type III and EN 15804.

Hygiene and Maintenance
Ideal for hospital use, Metawell® ceilings are designed to prevent germ growth, are easy to clean, and do not absorb water, thus preventing mold formation. They are delivered with a primered surface, making them easy to coat with hospital-standard varnishes and colors.

Heating and Cooling Performance
These ceilings provide efficient heating and cooling, with the ability to maintain comfortable room temperatures with less energy. Compared to floor heating, radiant ceiling heating prevents excessive floor temperatures, reducing the risk of athlete’s foot. The warmth from above also enhances hygiene by avoiding dirt accumulation in convector ducts and heater niches.

Acoustic Performance
Metawell® ceilings offer sound absorption capabilities, with performance compared to plasterboard in various frequency ranges, ensuring a quieter environment.
