PRODUCT DESCRIPTION CopperPlus delivers all of the beauty, durability, and integrity of solid copper; while also providing the additional advantages of lower weight, reduced thermal expansion, faster soldering, the strength of stainless steel, and complete formability. CopperPlus is a metallurgically roll-bonded metallic composite strip. The clad material has excellent bond integrity due to the nature of the metallurgical bond that develops between the copper and stainless steel layers. Save money by specifying .016 thickness in place of 16 oz. copper Օ Fully annealed CopperPlus forms like other soft construction metals. It can be bent flat on itself (180° bend - zero radius) at all standard gauges. Significant strength advantage over plain copper. Օ Easier soldering -the lower thermal conductivity of CopperPlus retains heat longer, resulting in easier solder flow higher joint shear strength, and faster installation. 0.012" thick CopperPlus meets Underwriters Laboratories test UL 2218, Class 4, for "Impact Resistance of Roofing Materials". This rating qualifies a roof for a significant insurance discount in 22 states and provinces in the U.S. and Canada. Copper clad stainless steel is copper roll bonded to both sides of a core of type 430 stainless steel.
