Project Overview
The document describes the construction of a new computer centre for SAP AG in St. Leon Rot, Germany, involving the installation of MERO's access floor Type 6 NB over 14,200 m².
Specifications
The access floors featured screwed-on matrix beams and pedestal elements, allowing for fire safety-compatible bridging elements up to 2 meters. The floors were designed as pressure floors for computer room refrigeration, using 7,900 perforated steel panels with variable volume regulation.
Materials and Design
Specially formatted perforated panels optimized computer placement, with ESD protection provided by caoutchouc rubber on 11,500 m² of access floors. Stability for computer cabinets was ensured with over 500 m² of computer cabinet frames on MERO's Type 2.
Additional Project
A 1,600 m² computer centre in Ballerup, Denmark, for IBM, featured a floor height between 400 and 850 mm, meeting 'Extra Heavy Grade' load requirements with special matrix beams and anti-corrosion coated steel components.
Certification
The system was certified as 'Extra Heavy Grade' by the British testing institute B.I.T.S.
