ABOUT MEISER MEISER, founded in 1956, is a medium-sized, ownermanaged family business with headquarters in SchmelzLimbach in the Saarland. In the field of grating MEISER occupy a leading position worldwide. The range of products is complemented by further business segments. Thus, it includes the field steel machining with own splitting plants and cold rolling plants. Furthermore, MEISER operate a galvanising line and a strip galvanising system. Diversification is strengthened by the manufacturing of profile planks, staircase systems, special profiles, framing systems and barrel hoops Even...

MEISER PROFILE PLANKING MEISER Profile planking MEISER profile planking is an alternative to MEISER grating, especially if there is a wide spread to be covered or a closed surface required. The special embossment and perforation guarantees a high antislip safety. Throughout industry where work is carried out with slippery materials, profile planks are a good choice. The possibility to produce elements up to a length of 8 m guarantees a fast application with self-developed clever fixing clips.

For indoor applications profile planking with sendzimir-galvanised band steel can be used as well which results in an enormous cost advantage. A specialist field are our fire-resistant profile planks. This design is tested and certified by the MFPA, and serves as a cover for transformer trays for example. Use our strengths to your advantage. TOP: SKYWALK LEUCHTENBURG SEITENRODA BOTTOM, FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: VW VEHICLE BODY AND PAINT CENTRE, BERLIN; ENERGIEBERG, HAMBURG; BMW, REGENSBURG

TECHNICAL TERMS Notch Special notches are possible up to the height of the surface of the plank, but have to be verified statically for on a case-by-case basis. Smooth edge Smooth edge / cut in embossment In general, the surfaces are punched to length in a certain grid dimension. If these have to be cut into in-between measures, the product can be manufactured with a double-sided smooth edge on request. By default, the surface is cut in embossment. Width of grating, width of embossed area With certain surfaces it is possible to design the embossed area independent from the width of the...

Side holes Profile planks are manufactured with side holes. The oblong slots are in each case perforated horizontally in one side and vertically on the other side. Thus, the planks can be connected easier on site using a direct fixing bolt. On request, the planks can be manufactured without side holes. Slotted holes are not possible in planks with a depth less than 25 mm. Steps Steps consist of profile planks with closed fronts, which can be designed with end plates holed for fixing. The embossed pattern is shifted toward the front edge of the step to set as a nosing (see detail 1)....

TECHNICAL TERMS Cut-outs Sections, bevel cuts and cut-outs at or within the profile plank. If the length of cut is smaller than 0.5 m, we call these small cut outs. Open cross section This is the free section of a perforated surface which is penetrated by water or air. It is calculated in percentage of the installed surface. Allowance for clearance Allowance for clearance ca. 2 mm The allowance for clearance serves for the adjustment of existing tolerances between the steel construction and the profile decking.

Closed at the front Profile planks can be designed with welded and folded plates at the front which increases the stability with overhangs and avoids look through from the side. Plug-in system The utility patent-protected MEISER plug-in nose system enables a simple and much faster assembly of large areas in contrast to previously using direct bolting or connecting plates. Furthermore, with this system a load distribution across several profiles is achieved. Special edging In order to use profile planks for special purposes, planks can be produced with shapes other than the normal C-profile...

MEISER run their own slitting plants, wire drawing machines and cold rolling mills and is therefore able to design a profile plank exactly according to the requirements and needs of the customer. The optimal combination of the thickness and the height of the material, combined with the suitable steel quality, guarantee a maximum economic benefit. Steel grades S 235 JR (DIN EN 10025-2) S 235 JR has proven its worth in practice by its good weldability, formability and stability. Tear strength Yield point DD 11 (DIN EN 10111) DD 11 shows similar product features as S 235, but distinguishes...

Galvanising Hot-dip galvanising is the last substantial step in the manufacturing of profile planks and guarantees longlife corrosion protection of the MEISER products without special maintenance tasks. In our own galvanising plants the environment and staff benefit from a non-toxic process and excellent working conditions making traditional ideas of galvanising oldfashioned. Automated processes in various fields focus on a highest possible degree of efficiency and quality. Every single product is synchronised with the galvanising process and can be traced from the hang-up on to the...

SURFACE TREATMENT Surface treatment MEISER profile planks stand out for longevity and high quality which depend on the correct surface finishing. Therefore, we offer our customers various options either emphasizing functionality or aesthetics. Various factors are crucial for the choice of surface treatment, such as the personal requirements of our customer, the budget and need for corrosion protection. Hot-dip galvanising MEISER profile planks made of steel are usually hot-dip galvanised in our new plant according to DIN EN ISO 1461 standards. State-of-the-art galvanising and environmental...
