Product catalog summary
Introduction
The Max Bögl Group has expanded its product range in railroad construction by manufacturing high-quality concrete railway sleepers, specifically the prestressed railway sleeper B 70, following a successful tender with Deutsche Bahn in August 2007.
Production Facilities
Within seven months, a production hall at the Sengenthal location was equipped with 1,000 sleeper forms and new production facilities. Production of the B 70 W 54 and B 70 W 60 sleepers, suitable for rail types S 54 and UIC 60, began in July 2008. The facility has an annual capacity of 250,000 sleepers.
Specifications
The prestressed concrete sleepers are available in lengths of 2.40 or 2.60 meters, with maximum cross-section dimensions of 30 x 21 cm and a weight of approximately 300 kg each.
Testing and Certification
The sleepers underwent successful static and dynamic testing at the Technical University in Munich, ensuring their suitability for installation in Deutsche Bahn AG's railroad lines. Max Bögl became a certified supplier for Deutsche Bahn in August 2008.
Logistics
Sleepers are stacked using an automatic robot crane, which collects and stacks them in groups of ten. The Sengenthal location's existing rail track facilitates economic transport, with loading occurring directly at the prefabrication plant's stockyard.
Conclusion
By producing concrete sleepers, Max Bögl completes its railroad construction product range, which includes the Slab Track System for high-speed railways and the Light Rail slab for trams, positioning itself as a leading German prefab manufacturer.

The precondition for the order of the railway sleepers was a successful static and dynamic test at the Technical University in Munich, done by Prof. Dr. G. Leykauf, department chairman. Thus evidence is fulfilled for the load of railway sleepers and their suitability for the installation into the railroad lines of the Deutsche Bahn AG. Stacking of the sleepers is done via an automatic robot crane which collects 10 sleepers each of type B 70 W 54 or W 60 and then stacks them separately. A key condition for the econo mic transport of the sleepers is the existing rail track to the Sengenthal location....
