It is a high stool that can be used in multiple settings and for everyday use. It is crafted in various materials with sustainable and socially responsible methods. The table top is made from Indian mango wood that is cut down once the productive life of the tree is over and another one is planted to replace it. The table top is turned manually on a lathe, showcasing the skill of Kharadi, an Indian wood turning community and supports their local skills. The finish used on the table top is a lead free water based PU lacquer and respects the local environment. Exquisite saddles have been produced in India for centuries and although some horse culture persists, it’s disminshing as India becomes more technologically developed. The Shell Chairs attempt to revitalize this skilled trade by providing leather stitching artisans with a global market for their craft and hopefully encourage them to pass it on to younger generations. It is made from Indian mango wood that is cut down once the productive life of the tree is over and another one is planted to replace it and is sustainable like the Mater Bowl Table. The finish of the mango wood is done with leadfree water based PU lacquers and respects the local environment. Open the catalog to page 8Sophie mirror Sophie is designed by the young French designer, Jean-Francois Merillou. The design is inspired by an old barrel and follows the sizes and materials of our highly successful Bowl Table range. Nails hammered by hand resembles the craftsmanship of making a barrel. The inspiration for the Cloudy Chair arose in the woods of Romania while looking up at the trees trying to find a ray of light over the clouds. Open the catalog to page 10Terho L amp The Terho lamp is designed by the Finnish designer Maija Puoskari. Terho means acorn in Finnish and the name simply refers to the organic and appealing shape of acorns found in nature. The enchanting color of alder wood (FSC certified) and the hand blown white glass opal are an unique combination of design seldomly seen. It is inspired by traditional craft practices in North India, particularly saddle making. The added backrest makes this barstool comfortable with a stylish silhouette and the swivel seat makes it funtional for the home or bars and restaurants. The nine discs in three different sizes are fitted to the stand using turned wooden dowels. Each component in the wooden version is turned manually on a lathe, showcasing the skill of Kharadi, an Indian wood turning community and supports their local skills. The raw material of the aluminum version is derived from recycled old car components and other aluminum waste that is collected through the workshop participation in the sustainable program Susbiz India.
