MASSPRODUCTIONS AT SVENSKT TENN Furniture company Massproductions is celebrating one year in business and to commemorate this they are launching a new product, sold exclusively through the Svenskt Tenn store in Stockholm. The piece is a side table made entirely out of glass, consisting of a handcrafted conical base attached to a hardened glass top using ultraviolet cured adhesive. The glass cone is mouth blown at Reijmyre, a glass works with a long tradition of hand crafted glass. Swedish glass tradition meets high-tech in this exquisite table designed by Chris Martin. “The Sander Table is an experiment in purity. The design consists of only three concentric circles arranged in different planes. Due to the transparent nature of glass, the whole object can be experienced at once, and the table surface appears to hover over the hand blown glass cone base.” - Says Chris Martin The two founders of Massproductions, Magnus Elebäck and Chris Martin, are proud of their collaboration with Svenskt Tenn. It’s a meeting between two companies that both stand for sculptural, tactile high qualty products. “With their simplicity, the glass tables create a relation between the timeless design of Josef Frank and the present. At the same time the craftsmanship involved in the manufacturing process and the limited edition makes them exclusive.” Says Thommy Bindefeld, marketing manager at Svenskt Tenn, who has the sole right to sell the tables in Sweden. The table is available in two sizes in a signed edition of 50 pieces. The smaller table measuring w:450 h:360 is priced at approx. 1.000 EUR and the larger measuring w: 480 h:400 is 1.200 EUR.
