Product catalog summary
Introduction
Timber decking is widely used but can be slippery when wet. Marley offers antislip decking products made from sustainably sourced European Redwood, ensuring safety and durability in commercial settings.
Product Range
  • CitiDeck®: Features a smooth profile with less abrasive inserts, suitable for urban and inclusive areas.
  • Antislip Plus®: Provides a slip-resistant surface for all commercial applications with public access.
  • Standard: Available in castellated and smooth profiles for areas not requiring antislip features.
  • Classic: Pigmented softwood offering a hardwood appearance at a lower cost.
Antislip Features
Marley's antislip decking exceeds the minimum Pendulum Test Value (PTV) of 36, ensuring low slip potential in public areas.
Profiles and Inclusivity
Smooth profiles are recommended for better water drainage and maintenance. CitiDeck® is designed for inclusivity, providing comfort for wheelchair users and pedestrians.
Structural Grading
Marley offers C16 and C24 graded timber for various load requirements, suitable for applications like bridges and balconies.
Sustainability and Treatment
Timber is responsibly sourced, with preservative and fire treatment options available to extend service life and meet building regulations.
Maintenance and Weathering
Minimal maintenance is required, with annual cleaning recommended. Timber will naturally weather to a silver-grey over time.
Performance and Testing
Products are independently tested for slip resistance and durability. Marley provides installation and maintenance guidelines for optimal performance.
Health and Safety
Precautions include preventing exposure to wood dust during machining, with proper ventilation and dust masks recommended.
Packaging and Waste Disposal
Protective packaging is used to prevent damage, and timber should be disposed of as treated softwood.
Technical Specifications
Span tables and load assumptions are provided for structural calculations, ensuring compliance with building regulations.
Specifications
Deck boards are designed to BS 5268 standards, with details on point load (1.4kN) and maximum deflection (3mm). Graded to C16 or C24, span tables are provided for different profiles and finishes.
Procedures and Standards
Decking boards are graded to BS 4978, aligning with BS EN 14081. Eurocodes introduced in 2010 are included in Building Regulations, replacing British Standards, but mixing standards is not allowed.
Recommendations
Eurocode span tables are recommended, assuming boards are graded to C16 or C24 and CE Marked. Live load is 5kN/m2, with point loads varying by application.
CE Marking
CE marking ensures safety and fitness for purpose, achieved by compliance with European Standards. Marley Timber Decking is the first deck board to be CE Marked.
Technical Specification
Technical specifications are provided based on BS 5268, with contact information for further inquiries.

y The ideal choice for high performance, safe applications. Timber decks continue to be an increasingly popular choice for many decking applications. However, many conventional decking boards can become slippery in wet conditions and present the danger of slips, falls and personal injury. The Marley range of structural timber antislip decking products are the ideal choice for safe, high performance commercial applications particularly across education, leisure and lifestyle, health, retail and public sectors....
