Smooth finish mortar Technical sheet

Smooth finish mortar Technical sheet

Product catalog summary
Product Overview: Smooth finish mortar is a decorative finish with a thickness of 2 mm, suitable for both interior and exterior applications. It is known for its mechanical qualities, excellent bonding, and impermeability, making it ideal for use in bathrooms, floors, walls, work surfaces, and objects.
Application Instructions: The application temperature should be between 5 and 25°C, with an ideal range of 15 to 20°C. The substrate must be clean, sound, and free of oil or laitance. For tiling or porous substrates, a suitable primer is required. On slabs or screed, dampen the substrate the day before application. Mix 4.25 kg of powder with 1 kg of liquid to form a homogeneous paste. The working time at 20°C is 25 to 30 minutes. Apply using a mortar board or smoothing tool in thin layers of less than 3 mm. Protect the mortar from wind, sun, and frost during hardening. Sand the surface the following day to achieve the desired finish.
Mechanical and Physical Characteristics: The mortar has a thixotropic consistency with a granulometry of 0 to 0.5 mm and an approximate density of 2. It bonds to concrete with a strength of 2 to 2.5 MPa and sets in 4 hours at 20°C. The appearance can be matt, silky matt, or brilliant, with an output of 4 kg per m² for a 2 mm thickness.
Packaging and Safety: The product is available in a 24.700 kg kit, with options for half and quarter kits. It contains cements that may cause irritation, so gloves should be used. The final appearance depends on substrate regularity and mixing conditions. Store in a dry room away from frost and intense heat.

Smooth finish mortar Technical sheet-1

MATERIAL Technical sheet Updated 01/07/2007 Smooth finish mortar This decorative finish with a thickness of 2 mm is used both inside and outside. Its mechanical qualities, excellent bonding quality and impermeability make it possible to implement bathrooms, floors, walls, work surfaces, objects, etc. Instructions Maximum temperature between 5 and 25°C. Ideal between 15 and 20°C. The substrate must be clean, sound and adherent, with no traces of oil or laitance. On tiling or a porous substrate (plaster, reinforced concrete, brick, breeze block, CTBX plywood, MDF, etc.), apply a suitable primer (consult us). On slabs or screed, dampen the substrate to saturation the day before application, avoiding pools or streaming on porous substrates. Prepare the mixture by incorporating the powder in a proportion of 4.25 kg in 1 kg of liquid. Mix manually or mechanically at very low speed until you obtain a homogeneous paste free of lumps. At 20°C the product has 25 to 30 minutes working time The product is applied using a mortar board, stainless steel or ABS smoothing tool or filling knife in thin, crossed layers of less than 3 mm. A sponge or polystyrene mortar board can be used to surface the second layer Another application method consists of applying a layer using a notched mortarboard of 2 to 3 mm, then a few hours after the second layer using the smoothing tool in the direction of the first layer. Clean tools with water progressively before hardening. After implementation of the material the mortar must be protected from wind, sun and frost during hardening. Sand the following day with a grain of 80, 100, 120 or 150 to obtain the desired finish showing the material effects. Note: Never add water or use water on mortar that is still fresh Mechanical and physical characteristics (at 20°C) Thixotropic consistency Granulometry of 0 to 0.5 mm Approximate density 2. Bonding to concrete: 2 to 2.5 MPa End of setting at 20°: 4 hours Appearance: matt, silky matt and brilliant Output: 4 kg per m² for 2 mm, maximum 6 mm Maintenance: cleaning with water. Packaging: 24.700 kg kit (cement tub, fillers and pigments of 20 kg and liquid resin vat of 4.700 kg). ½ kits and ¼ kits also exist This product contains cements and may cause irritations /Use gloves / The final appearance and homogeneity of the colour depend on the regularity of the substrate and mixing as well as the implementation conditions. Store in a dry room away from frost and intense heat. All the information given in this technical sheet is given as for information only and shall not incur our responsibility. Tests must be carried
