Product catalog summary
Overview of RESTON®SPHERICAL Bearings
RESTON®SPHERICAL bearings are designed to facilitate the controlled transfer of loads between a structure's superstructure and substructure, accommodating rotations and movements where necessary. They are suitable for medium to high load structures with limited space for bearings and comply with European norm EN 1337 and ETA-08/0115.

Design and Components
The bearings consist of a concave lower part with a ROBO®SLIDE sliding sheet, a convex calotte for low-friction sliding, and additional components for accommodating movements. They are connected to structures using anchor dowels or plates, and feature external movement scales for monitoring.

Types of Bearings
RESTON®SPHERICAL bearings are categorized as KF (Fixed), KE (Guided sliding), and KA (Free sliding), each designed to accommodate different movement and force requirements.

Materials Used
High-quality materials include Grade S355 steel, ROBO®SLIDE sliding material, silicone grease, hard chromium plating, and certified stainless steel. Corrosion protection is tailored to environmental conditions.

Properties and Installation
Installation involves careful handling to protect sliding surfaces and movement indicators. Bearings are pre-assembled, and precise positioning is crucial. Anchor dowels and plates facilitate future replacement.

ROBO®SLIDE Material
ROBO®SLIDE offers high wear resistance and load capacity, suitable for extreme temperatures. Testing shows low friction and minimal wear, outperforming standard materials like PTFE.

Quality Assurance
mageba ensures quality through ISO 9001:2008 certification and regular independent checks. RESTON®SPHERICAL bearings are CE marked, indicating compliance with EN 1337.

Optional Features and Special Solutions
Optional features include 3-point levelling surfaces and dust protection. Special solutions like RESTON®ILM and UPLIFT bearings cater to specific construction needs.

Support and Offers
mageba provides quotations based on project requirements and offers expert advice for optimal solutions. Further information is available on their website.

Structural bearings   Design and types Principle mageba RESTON®SPHERICAL bearings ensure the controlled transfer of loads between a structure’s superstructure and its substructure. They also accommodate rotations about any axis and – where appropriate – movements of the superstructure. Vertical and horizontal forces are transmitted to the substructure, while rotations are facilitated by a spherical calotte in a matching lower part concave. RESTON®SPHERICAL bearings are suitable for use in structures with medium to high loads, and structures with limited space for bearings. The design of RESTON®SPHERICAL...

Structural bearings   Properties and installation Anchoring Depending on design, bearings are connected to the superstructure and substructure by means of anchor dowels or threaded sockets, or by anchor plates with shear studs. Anchor dowels are suitable for the transmission of horizontal forces in the case of guided sliding (KE) and fixed (KF) bearings. Threaded sockets are suitable for free sliding (KA) bearings without anchor plates. The use of anchor plates simplifies future bearing replacement. The number of shear studs on each anchor plate depends on static design requirements. Mixed designs,...
