Seismic protection Characteristics & dimensions Principle mageba RESTON®SA shock absorbers are velocity dependent devices, consisting primarily of a piston, a piston rod and a cylinder pipe. They allow free movements of a structure during service conditions, but provide displacement control and dissipate energy during sudden movements caused by events such as earthquakes, exceptional traffic or high wind forces.
