Bearing Surfaces Soundproofing layer for preventing longitudinal transmission of structure-borne sound in walls Principle The LASTO®WALL E soundproofing layer combines a high load capacity with optimal deflection properties thanks to the small amount of travel. Settling is reduced to a minimum, and permanently elastic solid rubber provides a high degree of protection against mechanical stresses during construction. This effectively prevents the formation of acoustic bridges and eliminates the risk of rising damp. Ensure that layer width is at least 30 mm more than width of wall. LASTO®WALL E Concrete slab LASTO®WALL E below wall section LASTO®WALL E soundproofing layers are suitable for use where protection against sound is especially important. This is usually the case in living or sleeping areas, conference rooms or offices. In order to ensure that plastering does not create acoustic bridges for structureborne sound the layer must be 30 mm wider than the wall. Sections should be butt-joined and then taped.
