Separator bearings for levelling irregularities in support surfaces Principle When used to support hard building components, LASTO®GEG separator bearings can balance load transfer irregularities in support surfaces. Slight vertical misalignments and production and installation tolerances can also be compensated for. Thanks to the high load capacity of the elastomer, areas of high pressure are effectively reduced or redistributed, minimising the risk of component damage. LASTO®GEG strips Areas of Application LASTO®GEG separator bearings are used between the support surfaces of two structural components where pressure forces could cause damage. They are also used in the installation of prefabricated units to compensate and balance production and installation tolerances. These elastic separator bearings disrupt the transmission of high-frequency vibrations which could cause impact sound and which would otherwise be transmitted around a structure via reverberant concrete and steel elements with almost no damping.
