Product catalog summary
Introduction
Macalloy has been a leader in the design and manufacture of threaded bar systems since the 1940s, with applications in post-tensioning, ground engineering, and more. The company is based in Sheffield, England, and adheres to strict quality guidelines, including BS EN ISO 9001 standards. Macalloy's product range includes the TB460, TB520, TB590, and TB700 systems, each offering different mechanical properties and strengths.

Macalloy TB460 and TB520 Systems
The TB460 system offers a yield stress of 460 N/mm², making it 30% stronger than S355 grade steel. It is available in diameters M42 to M105, with a maximum bar length of 11.80m. The TB520 system, with a yield stress of 520 N/mm², is 13% stronger than the TB460, allowing for smaller diameters to handle the same load. Both systems are weldable and designed to carry the full capacity of the bar.

Macalloy TB590 and TB700 Systems
The TB590 system has a yield stress of 590 N/mm², 28% stronger than the TB460, and is available in diameters M42 to M105 with a maximum bar length of 10m. The TB700 system, with a yield stress of 700 N/mm², is 52% stronger than the TB460. Both systems are designed to carry the full capacity of the bar.

Corrosion Protection
Macalloy offers several corrosion protection options, including painting, galvanizing, and wrapping with protective barriers like Denso tape. The Denso tape system is highly resistant to environmental factors and is commonly used in marine environments. Sacrificial protection is also an option, allowing for corrosion due to the superior mechanical properties of the steel.

Components and End Terminations
Macalloy provides various components such as plates, nuts, washers, and turnbuckles, designed to complement the TB460, TB520, TB590, and TB700 systems. These components ensure the full capacity of the bars is utilized.

Applications and Projects
Macalloy's systems have been used in various projects worldwide, including Reykjavik Haven in Iceland, Belfast Harbor in the UK, and Port Bronka Expansion in Russia. The company continues to innovate and develop its product range to meet diverse engineering needs.

Corrosion Protection Steel sheet piling is used in many aggressive environments and consequently factors affecting the life of the tie bar must be considered. Several options are available, including painting and galvanising, but the most common form is to wrap the bar with a protective barrier containing oxygen scavengers, such as the Denso range of products. Please refer to table 7 The exposed end can be protected with an anchor head cap, which is filled with Denso Void Filler. The most common form of protection is denso tape with PVC. The Denso Tape is cold applied and remains plastic over...
