Introduction
This document provides technical details for the Macalloy S650 Stainless, a high-strength continuously threaded bar system used in various construction applications such as bridge and building mini piles, holding down bolts, soil nails, and rock bolts.

Specifications
The Macalloy S650 Stainless system is available in diameters ranging from 16mm to 50mm, with standard lengths of 6 meters. It is manufactured under a quality assurance system accredited to BS EN ISO 9001. The bars are made from grade 316 stainless steel, with grade 304 available upon request. The minimum characteristic yield stress after threading is 650 N/mm².

Mechanical Properties
The bars have a minimum ultimate tensile strength of 800 N/mm². The coarse thread is rolled directly onto the bar, designed for ease of assembly and providing a bond value in excess of 5 N/mm² when cast into concrete or grouted.

Accessories
Accessories for the Macalloy S650 Stainless include couplers, nuts, and flat plates, available in various sizes to match the bar diameters. Additional components such as dished plate washers, pattress plates, lantern spacers, and hemispherical seating are available upon request.

Site Stressing
Hydraulic jacking equipment is available for applying load to the bars, with gauges and load cells to ensure accuracy. Hand and air-operated pumps are also available, and on-site stressing and training services are offered.

Other Systems
Macalloy also offers the S1030 system, a high-strength stainless bar with a 0.1% proof stress of 835 N/mm² and an ultimate stress of 1030 N/mm², detailed in the Macalloy Post Tensioning Systems brochure.
