OVERVIEW & SPECIFICATIONS Information › Add-Ons ChemShield is a protective film that can be applied to one or both sides of Lumicor panels to increase chemical and stain resistance. This protective layer will not fade or streak even after heavy cleaning. Use for vertical applications where panels are cleaned with chemicals routinely, or are in high-touch areas. For horizontal applications such as tabletops or countertops, use Lumiguard. Chemshield is ideal for use with vertical applications where the resin will need to be cleaned frequently such as high traffic areas or those where cleaning is performed daily for sanitary reasons. ChemShield protects against common staining agents, such as food, ink, and grease. ChemShield also protects panels from limited surface exposure to many acids, bases, and solvents. Panels are protected with an invisible layer of ChemShield (shown in blue for illustration). Without ChemShield, panels exposed to harsh chemicals or cleaning solutions and solvents can crack, craze, become cloudy or discolored. ChemShield is appropriate for all décors in every Lumicor collection. Choose from over 250 décors in an endless number of combinations. ChemShield may be applied to one or both sides of Lumiclear ™. It is not available for use with Lumiform ™. FINISHES & ADD-ONS A Satin finish is recommended for panels with ChemShield. If scratched or damaged, the panel cannot be refinished without losing its chemical and stain resistance. Chemshield may be added to the following sheet sizes: ChemShield may be added to any available gauge of Lumicor panels, from 1/16" to 1" (1.5 mm - 24 mm).
