Selecting Colors & Blends Color is one of the most important aspects of selecting a roof. Clay red is the base color of all Ludowici roof tiles. All other colors are applied to the base tile at over 2000° F via a ceramic glazing process. This results in a permanent finish that will not fade or flake off.
