Designed by Diego Rossi and Raffaele Tedesco in 2003, the Agave suspension lamp series includes models such as D49/17s, D49/26s, D49/26s EL, D49/26s ELD, D49/70s EL, and D49/70s ELD. The lamps are designed for indoor use and feature a polycarbonate ceiling rose and body, with injection-moulded transparent methacrylate ribs. The ceiling rose dimensions vary, with a diameter of 14 cm and height of 4 cm for some models, and a diameter of 20 cm and height of 6.4 cm for others. The weight ranges from 2.546 kg to 5.454 kg depending on the model.
The lamps use different types of bulbs: the D49/17s and D49/26s models use a 21W FBT E27 lamp, while the D49/26s ELD, D49/26s EL, D49/70s EL, and D49/70s ELD models use a 32-42W FSM GX24 q-3/4 lamp.
The ceiling rose is available in white, and the lamp includes filters in blue, yellow, red, and amber, which can be superimposed to create striking color effects. The design features a radial composition of transparent methacrylate ribs that cover the light source, preventing glare and light dispersion.
The Agave lamp series offers a novel play of transparencies, reflections, and refractions, allowing the fluorescent lamp to emit light with a strong visual impact. The colored filters enhance the lamp's aesthetic by allowing customization of the emitted light color.
The lamps are classified under insulation class and have specific reference codes for each model, such as D49/17s (1D4917S00000) and D49/26s EL (1D4926SE0000), among others.
