As a precaution to reduce the risk of injury on site, 110V site lighting is the industry standard and typically required for insurance purposes. 110V (CTE) is a system that uses a centrally tapped earth which is effectively 2 x 55V. The lowered voltage and current is far safer than 230V which reduces the risk of significant injury.
