At Louis Poulsen we shape light. We strive to create an atmosphere where you feel comfortable. We shape our products because of the illumination each shape creates. Every single surface and curve exist to create precisely the right atmosphere. The idea behind LP Circle was to create a product family, which allowed a playful expression when furnishing offices and institutions. The voluminous trim ring is made of aluminium and angled perpendicular to the ceiling with a 5° angle on the inner side, producing an attractive graduation of the light’s effect on the shade interior.

The basic idea for LP Circle sprang from the designer’s experience with OreLED, a fixture installed at 0restad School near Copenhagen. Mikkel Beedholm, an architect at KHR arkitekter, explains: “The aim was for the fixture to not simply slice through the ceiling like a tin can - we wanted the collar to give the fixture character and interplay with the building’s architecture. The fixture would thus add an extra dimension to the interior through the collar’s randomised reflection of the light.” Normally, it is not possible to choose colours for downlight fixtures, but LP Circle is an exception...

Colours Colours lend character to a room, creating a different atmosphere and adding an extra dimension to the interior. LP Circle is therefore available in the colours yellow and petroleum, or completely simple in white and black.

Easy and convenient installation A mounting bracket allows the fixture to be installed without the use of tools. Its ergonomically correct shape makes it simple and easy to tighten optimally. Ceiling interface The polycarbonate ring and its dust-repellent shape ensure a precise and elegant ceiling interface. Diffuser The diffuser has an opal finish to prevent any direct glare, yet still permits high-efficiency light penetration without significant energy loss. Intelligent lighting LP Circle - Kelvin Adjustable comes with a DALI device type 8, which communicates with the DALI system, which makes it possible to control the colour temperature of the light. The colour temperature can be manually regulated, but it can also be programmed for individual scenarios, for example summer and winter. These can then be saved and activated with a single press of a button.
