The special threelayer structure of Litotex prevents the transmission of existing cracks and movements to the ceramic covering • Increases shear stress resistance and allows safe installation on problematic substrates • Separation membrane for the installation of all size ceramics or natural stones on cement screeds without the need to respect any existing divider joints • Separation membrane for the installation of ceramics or natural stones on cementitious substrates that have not properly cured • Removable separation membrane for the interior installation of ceramics or natural stones, used to protect substrates such as existing tiling, ceramics, natural stones, wood flooring, PVC, linoleum, cement screeds, wood or OSB paneling for exhibition halls and trade fair booths, and allowing the quick removal and replacement of coverings The substrates must be clean, dry, solid, compact and without rising damp. If the substrate is not perfectly flat or the level is incorrect, it can be evened before installation using suitable leveling or self-leveling products, for example Litoliv S40 Eco, Litoliv Extra 15, Litoliv Express or Litoplan Smart. Use of primer: • Smooth and compact substrates such as existing ceramic or agglomerate coverings, must be properly degreased with specific detergents such as Litoscrub EVO • In the case of anhydrite screeds, check for the presence of a suitable vapor barrier in order to prevent rising damp. Use a carbide method hygrometer to check that the residual humidity is less than 0.5%. The surface must be sanded and treated with Primer C • In the case of cementitious substrates that produce surface dust, these must be treated beforehand with the readyto-use consolidating primer in aqueous dispersion, Primer C In any case, the respective technical data sheets must be consulted for correct use of the indicated products. Like a separation membrane Pre-cut the Litotex rolls to the desired length with scissors or a cutter. Apply the adhesive on the substrate using a 6 mm (0.24in) notched trowel and lay the previously cut rolls of Litotex, applying firm pressure with a trowel and pulling slightly so that the rolls are properly taut. During this phase, observe the open time of the adhesive.

The various rolls can be installed side by side at a maximum distance of 5 mm (0.20in) from one another and not overlapping. The choice of adhesive depends on the type of covering that will be installed and its size or installation times. Once the adhesive has set, the ceramics or natural stone can be installed with a suitable adhesive. Side-by-side installation is not recommended. In any case always create the necessary divider joints on the tiling as provided for by standard UNI EN 11493.
