Litomesh ANTI-ALKALINE REINFORCING GLASS FIBER MESH. FOR INTERIORS AND EXTERIORS. 4x5 mm (0.16x0.20in) glass fiber mesh treated with alkali-resistant fixative. The fixative also guarantees the improved adhesion of products used for waterproofing or exterior insulation and finishing systems. The glass fiber mesh reinforcement prevents cracking due to stresses on the substrate and also allows the application of an even layer of product. ADVANTAGES / FEATURES • Suitable for use in severe operating conditions from -22°F to 194°F (from -30°C to +90°C) • Excellent chemical resistance against many aggressive chemicals (see table) • Usable with all types of waterproofing membranes such as Elastocem and Coverflex The product is suitable as reinforcement for waterproof leveling layers on surfaces developed with the two-component elastic mortars Elastocem and Coverflex, and for exterior insulation and finishing systems. The glass fiber mesh must always be embedded in the thickness of the waterproof layer or leveling layers, using the following methods: • Apply a layer of waterproofing or leveling product about 1-1.5 mm (0.039-0.059in) thick directly on the substrate using a smooth trowel • Apply the glass fiber mesh while the product is still fresh, compressing it slightly until it is embedded in the applied layer of product • Adjacent mesh sheets must be overlapped by at least 2.0 in (5 cm) • Apply a second coat of waterproofing or leveling product, making sure to completely cover the reinforcing mesh • This operation can also be carried out after 24 hours (depending on the product used, ambient conditions and applied thickness), when the product is set to light foot traffic • For more details on waterproofing indoor and outdoor wet areas, refer to the instructions in the Litokol User catalog • Protect the waterproofing against rain for the first 24 hours after application • In warm climates, keep the packaged product in a cool and dry place away from the sun before use • Do not use the product for applications not stated in this technical sheet • If in doubt, contact the Litokol S.p.A Technical Help Service.
