Litocem NORMAL-SETTING FAST-DRYING SPECIAL HYDRAULIC BINDER FOR SCREEDS. SUITABLE FOR UNDERFLOOR HEATING. FOR INTERIORS AND EXTERIORS. Special hydraulic binder to be mixed with assorted aggregates with granulometry from 0 to 8 mm and water. ADVANTAGES / FEATURES • Suitable for the development of floating or bonded screeds in indoor and outdoor areas, ideal for subsequent installation of ceramic and porcelain tiles after 24 hours, natural stones after 2 days, wood, PVC, linoleum, carpet flooring after 4 days • Suitable for interior and exterior applications. • No shrinkage during setting, which prevents cracking phenomena • Development of screeds with incorporated heating coils without the need for fluidifying additives • Quickly develops high mechanical strength, setting to light foot traffic in just 12 hours 20 kg bags - 1,200 kg standard pallet Development of floating or bonded screeds in indoor and outdoor areas, ideal for subsequent installation in a short time. INSTALLATION PLANNING The only way to guarantee the long-lasting performance of ceramic and porcelain tile installations is to properly plan the process. It is therefore advisable to consult the national regulations in force in each country, for example standard UNI 11493 in Italy, which provides all necessary instructions regarding the choice of materials, correct planning, use and installation, so as to ensure all quality, performance and durability standards are safely met. Useful information can be obtained by consulting the Code of Good Practice for support screeds in interiors published by CONPAVIPER. Worksite conditions Check the suitability of the temperature, humidity, light conditions etc. at the time of the product’s application. Materials Check that all materials used for tiling (ceramic materials, levelling systems, adhesives, grouts, waterproofing products, etc.) are suitable for the intended use and have been correctly stored. Joints The size of the joints must be determined during the design phase, taking into account the following factors: • Type of screed • Architectural situation • Presence of elements of discontinuity • Type and format of covering to be installed • Ambient conditions • Intended use of flooring The purpose of divider joints is to allow the normal contraction and expansion of the set screed. They are generally created near: • Thresholds • Floors with area greater than 40 m2 • Areas with longest side longer than 8 metres • Presence of elements of discontinuity • Sudden change of the size of the system The UNI 11493 standard suggests the creation of fractionation joints from 5x5 m to 6x4m in the case of internal

The creation of these joints involves mechanical cutting to be carried out as soon as the screed is ready to be incised (no later than 24 hours) and must involve at least 1/3 of the thickness, paying attention not to incise the reinforcement if present. Any structural joints must obviously be respected during the casting of the screed. Underfloor heating After at least 4 days from installation of the screed developed with Litocem Pronto, the heating system can be used with a variable supply water temperature between...

In this case, after properly preparing the substrate (cleaning, degreasing, etc.) and just before pouring the mix, use a brush, large brush or broom to apply an even layer of bonding slurry made with Litocem, water and Idrokol X20, batched in the following proportion: Litocem: 3 parts by weight Water: 1 part by weight Idrokol X20: 1 part by weight Then apply the Litocem mix fresh-on-fresh on...
